The Magic Behind The Ornament Balls On Our December Cover Cake | Southern Living - Duration: 2:58.

(quiet guitar music)

This is the Southern Living, what we like to call

in the test kitchens, the Big White Cake.

It is the white cake that is on the cover,

and it's the cake, and the cover, that people most

look forward to because it's always a big secret

as to what this white cake is going to be.

This year, I think it's a little bit unexpected

for readers, so we're kind of really excited

to share this cake with everyone.

It's something completely different than what we've

ever done in the past, which is a lot of fun

to get to work on.

These are the cake balls.

This is just a vanilla, white cake mix, and I'm going to

crumble these into fine crumbles and then mix it

with some canned icing, and then form cake balls.

Got it narrowed down to two different cakes this year.

Had to make different versions of both those cakes.

You kind of think you might run out of white cake ideas

from year to year.

This one, we liked it, I think it was because it was

just different than what we've ever done in the past.

There was two developers, a cross-tester,

and now the food stylist, so that's four,

and then we have a photographer, and a prop stylist.

It takes a lot of patience, and therefore, a lot of time.

So if I ever am like finding myself with a lot of time,

which is very rare these days, I make a cake.

So I'm piping this with a royal icing, which is made with

whipped eggs whites, or a meringue powder for stabilization.

For piping, a royal icing is always the way to go

just because you can get super fine, and it hardens,

when it dries it hardens, and so it doesn't really sag,

or fall, or weep.

It's just kind of like Christmas ornament patterns.

There's no really specific thing that I'm trying

to follow, I'm just like doing whatever, and it looks good.

Just to kind of remind you of what you see

in traditional ornament boxes.

You see cakes whenever you're little, and you're like,

oh, it's probably just like they just make the cake

and like whatever.

But to see how much work actually goes into these things,

is to make them beautiful for the cover, it's insane.

It's like such a cool experience and you get to learn

how people make the magic happen.

Trump Sends LaVar Ball Very Clear Message, Here's What Really Happened In China.

President Donald Trump left no doubt in anyone's mind Wednesday about who secured the release

of three UCLA basketball players who had been arrested in China for shoplifting.

Since last Friday, Trump has been dueling with LaVar Ball, father of LiAngelo Ball,

one of the players arrested.

LaVar Ball has publicly disparaged Trump's role in securing his son's release.

But in the early hours of the day Wednesday, Trump noted that without his hard work, LiAngeo

Ball would have gone to prison for a long time.

"It wasn't the White House, it wasn't the State Department, it wasn't father LaVar's

so-called people on the ground in China that got his son out of a long term prison sentence

– IT WAS ME.

Too bad!

LaVar is just a poor man's version of Don King, but without the hair.

Just think," Trump tweeted.

He then followed that up with a second, indignant tweet.

"LaVar, you could have spent the next 5 to 10 years during Thanksgiving with your

son in China, but no NBA contract to support you.

But remember LaVar, shoplifting is NOT a little thing.

It's a really big deal, especially in China.

Ungrateful fool!" Trump wrote.

Ball has disputed virtually everything Trump has said about getting his son, LiAngelo,

and two other players released.

The players, who are arrested shortly before Trump arrived in Beijing, were released last

week.

They have since thanked Trump profusely.

Ball, chief executive of the sports apparel company Big Baller Brand, also stars in the

Facebook reality series "Ball in the Family."

Ball's negative attitude got under the skin of former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

"I think it's a sad commentary on what's happened to America when a father being told

that his son was shoplifting in China isn't really angry at his son," Gingrich said

Tuesday on "Hannity."

"He ought to be grateful to the president, because his son could have been in really

deep trouble," he said.

"I'm embarrassed for that father that he didn't have the decency to say, 'Thank

you, Mr. President.

I've got to talk to my kid,'" Gingrich said.

"I just think this is a sign of what's sick about America, that people don't take

responsibility, they don't take accountability."

Gingrich pointed out that a future NBA player who steals sunglasses is an embarrassment.

"People should be pretty irritated that these guys who have a privileged life, have

a privileged future, have the chance for a multi-million dollar career in the NBA are

out here embarrassing America, looking stupid and doing something that's totally dumb,"

Gingrich said.

On Monday, Ball stood by his refusal to give President Donald Trump any credit for the

release of the three players.

"Did he help the boys get out?

I don't know.

… If I was going to thank somebody I'd probably thank President Xi (Jinping),"

Ball told CNN's Chris Cuomo.

Ball said that there was no proof Trump helped release his son.

"It wasn't like he was in the U.S. and said, 'OK, there's three kids in China.

I need to go over and get them.'

That wasn't the thought process," Ball said, later adding, "I say thank you when

I see something."

Ball preferred to give the credit to himself.

"I helped my son get out … of China.

I had some people who had boots on the ground that knew the situation when we first jumped

on it."

"I say thank you when I see something.

I don't thank you just 'cause it's people talking and saying I did this, I did that,"

he said.

sets you have well this is a velociraptor you have the Spinosaurus

the Triceratops you have the ankylosaurus you have the T Bratz and

without that then work put on and you can combine the parts from all of them

wow this looks awesome let's go ahead and open it up okay here it is on the

package all taken apart so let's go ahead and put them together let's take a

closer look at it first you got the Jurassic world emblem here

so you don't mix these up with other drastic world sets and then let's go

ahead gonna put his head on first and these just snap off nice and easy I mean

it's almost similar to Legos but it is a little

so it is fun though it's a lot fun really like these masher sense

and you have a nice range of movement with these sets

yeah there are

tiny swords your favor make sure you leave it for me in the comments down

below there's a lot of them so it's really a hard choice okay let's take a

closer look at him see his mouth will open up it'll open and close I mean

doesn't open very far but it's kind of cool the teeth look they did a good job

with painting the teeth and inside too he's got like a realistic looking tongue

he's got cool green eyes he's got blue spikes on top he's got a good range of

movement with his head I mean he could turn his head 360 degrees and with his

arms too he could turn them I believe all the way around yes all the way

around so he could have some you could have some good battles

and same with the other arm then his legs too they have full range of

movement see he could do some yoga moves here you cry yeah

then got good joint movement down here to 360 degree rotation there to his tail

off so I believe just 360 degree rotation so you could do some really

cool stuff this guy if you bend him forward enough he could stand on his own

I mean it does look a little awkward in this to play his legs spread out but

then you got big claw here this is this is the velociraptors use this ripping

cloth to rip their enemies apart Wow okay let's see let let's combine him

with some other sets here I could combine him I have the t-rex one which

comes with like some another funny head like this big purple ones look you could

have him have a big purple head like this or you could put the t-rex his head

on him so he could have a huge head a huge head and a little body take a look

at that let's see you could put the T Rexes

battle legs onto him if you have some really huge legs too

Wow and then let's see I believe the tail will also fit

look at that guy's you got some really mixed-up mashers here Wow look at that

now he's done big retractable claws boy he could really attack now you like that

and I mean there's just so many different things you could do let's see

you could put the spikes from the t-rex onto his back Wow

we really genetically modified this one very long

it just looks wrong the little body a big head huge legs Wow you can't wanna

fun these could also go the other way here's the T Rexes body which is a lot

bigger you could put the velociraptors to any little bit and it's 90 feet and

its little tail and it's big body and arms play that looks funny or you can go

the other way you could take the velociraptors little body here and put

all the T Rexes parts on to it why these sets are fun you could do a lot of cool

things I have a lot more of these sets once I get once I do reviews of them we

can combine all the parts and have lots of fun

oh oh queen outside Maximus picked a bad day to take a drive through the forest

this is not good

me and all my friends are here in the carriage and we're having so much fun oh

look look at those cute eggs look one of them is hatching all it looks so cute it

t-rex he's protecting his eggs Maximus Go Go Go

grabs the Velociraptor in his mighty jaws shakes him around and since these

are the mashers look he could pull his head right off

oh boy those masters are so much fun you can pull off all the pieces see this

whole head fits into the mouth of the t-rex then if he wants you'd like grab

his arm and like what was arm off oh no

ah quick Maximus Go Go Maximus go oh no they're being chased by the t-rex

quick faster Maximus faster he wants to get

oh boy they just barely escaped

boy he does a good she does a good job of protecting her

eggs let's take a closer look at it you can make these eggs and the nest right

out of play-doh it's just a round shape and then you make the round eggs then I

took like a little dinosaur figure and popped his head out and I used like

black play-doh to let make cracks in the egg so it looks like he's hatching it

was a lot of fun and it's it's really easy to make

WHAT'S IN MY DIAPER BAG?! 2017 | New Mom | AMBER MANCHA - Duration: 8:01.

Hey guys and welcome back to my channel or welcome to my channel

My name is named Ravana, and it is right up there today. We're gonna be doing what's in my diaper bag?

I've seen quite a few what's in my diaper bag videos and they've all been very

Tiny and very organized and this is how I was in the beginning when I first had my son

Everything was perfectly folded and had a place and now we've been doing it for 10 months and my diaper bag

looks a lot like that and I did not go through any preparation for this video, so

We're just gonna see what is in here and just know that if your diaper bag is a mess

It's okay, because you're a creative genius, and you work better in chaos least

That's what I tell my husband, and he believes me for some weird reason

So we're just gonna get started um. I do have a Vera Bradley diaper bag

This diaper bag is a mazing

It comes out with like a whole fold out like a little diaper station here, which I never use anymore

I did all the diapers right in their little places and their wipes and the fold out thing whatever

Anyways, I got this bag the outside is cloth and the inside is a plastic lining which is amazing this was a gift

That was bought for me, and it is definitely something that I would buy for somebody else or after seeing it

It is something that I would purchase for myself. I absolutely love this bag. I love that

It's so big. It comes with netted pockets on the inside

So immediately off the bat, we have puss. I love my boobs

And we're doing the strawberry

Apple he's got his pincher grasp ready

And he Mills the stuff around and he gets it to his face and then sometimes

He just throws it on the floor. I do have to say that

these are

Freaking delicious, they are so good, and they're only like a dollar 97

But it's great my son always wants to eat when you're eating he sees you eating and sometimes

He can't eat the food that I eat because it's dairy or its processed or it's seasoned too much

So then I just give him his little poops. He loves his poops next we have diapers

Just scattered everywhere, but my son is in a four and we have the little Sesame Street pampers

We are a Pampers house Pampers diapers Pampers wipes they have been the best we these are the Pampers, Swaddlers

And we just moved to the Pampers Cruisers. We have the

Enfamil and leave us all this is vitamin D

I give this to my son because I breastfeed him and breast milk does not carry vitamin D

So you have to give him the extra vitamin D for his bone structure and you can put it in his bottles

Or you can put it in their food next we have this toy

He really likes this thing it hangs off of his car seat sometimes

I like it cuz it's got a bunch of little different things that he can grab on to or chew or

A mirror so you can look at himself cuz he's vain like his mommy, and he's really good-looking

So why wouldn't you want to look at yourself?

There's some more toys to keep him occupied some little sound-making toys in here 1

Onesies mom's let me tell you something always keep an extra pair of clothes

in your diaper bag

couple of reasons number one

I started feeding my son, and it can just be so messy and get everywhere

But for the most part you want to keep an extra pair of clothes in your diaper bag because if your kid blows out

And you got nothing left

You got nothing left

I have this thing that holds his pinkies as you can see is empty because we never put the pinkies in it anymore

They're the cutest freakin things okay, so my son is really fat feet not really long feet

So I had to buy him big shoes, so we could get his little fat feet in there

But they don't fill out the toes so they fall out fall off all the time

but I can't fit him in like regular shoes because

He's got like Fred Flintstone feet so I bought him these hopefully he can get some wears out of him typically

he just rips them off and chews on them, but it doesn't really matter because they never hit the ground so this is the

thing that you lay him on

When you go to change his diaper this came with my diaper bag your diaper bag will typically always come with these little mats

to put on the changing table or on the ground or on the back of the toilet wherever you have to change your son or

Daughter a little hat just in case it gets too cold a bottle an extra bottle

I will always keep this in here because I only made that mistake once where you bring all the milk

And you don't bring a bottle and my milk snob cover so typically if I'm with my son

I don't bottle feed him. I will breastfeed him

I can so I just take this these things are amazing. They're like

$36 I think and I got them because shark tank and we buy everything off shark tank so yeah

These are fantastic you can put it over you you can put it over your car seat

You can put it over the thing to the grocery cart when you go to the grocery store

But I just use it as a cover and it's so comfortable and so soft

And it doesn't get really hot so when the baby's breastfeeding and it's hot outside

It's not like he's all sweaty little Kleenex that I've never used

Mostly because I forget that it's in here foaming dish and bottle soap

Which has never been opened because I just always wash it with soap

Or I put it back in my diaper bag until I get home

And then I wash it and sanitize it another little toy that

It's supposed to do something and I have no idea what it does so like a purse. I don't know a pair of socks

Oh, they don't match. That's what the problem is oh no. They do match you're just inside out

About a pair of socks so he always has a pair of socks because he never wears any shoes

More toys right here's some little teething rings this little square that

Goes like that

hand sanitizer, okay, this is the baby Ganic Sal qahal free foaming hand sanitizer I

Love this stuff

And I will be repurchasing this even after my son is way older this smells so good

Mmm, but it smells so good. It doesn't have like that hand sanitizer smell, and I like it because a lot of times

I'll go to the bathroom, and I'll you know wash my hands, and then I come out

and I put like DEET DEET on here because I feed my son a lot with my hands a lot with my fingers so my

hands need to be sanitized, and I have a

second bottle of hand sanitizer

I have desitin in here my son has never gotten diaper rashes, so I've never used it, but I keep it

Just in case I also have this. This is the little draft pen this was given to me as a gift

I've also never used this

and

last but not least a

giant tub of

Petroleum jelly because my son is fat

And he gets cracks and crevices that you need to keep lubed up on his little fat turkey body so

Um he has some creases in his thighs and behind his knees that from crawling and stuff and just like that

Chafing together so we have to keep him nice and lubed up

And that's just always in here if I am leaving the house my main list always goes to diapers wipes

milk if he's going to the babysitter a bottle and

extra clothes

those are really the only things that you need to have I don't have any wipes in this bag because I took them out and

They're in his room right now, but but yeah if you're bringing him somewhere you want to make sure he has milk

I am and I have in another video. It's a lance and all smart pump unboxing

I use the Lance at all I always call it Lance annul there's no L. Its lansinoh

Lanson all

Lansinoh, I don't know somebody help me with it ends with an H not with an L anyways

I use their cooler, and I use their milk bags, and they are my

Favorite their milk bags freeze flat I lay them on their side

So they freeze nice and flat they don't take up a lot of room

and they're really really easy to defrost that is that I hope you guys enjoyed this video and

Seeing what was in my diaper bag and what I carry on me at all times usually my wallet my car keys go in there

Because I don't carry a regular purse anymore because I'm no longer my own person anyways

She's so proud of him this is such a huge accomplishment, and way to go Jon!

So proud of him and the car people and everybody here at Disneyland they love

Cheese Scallion Butter Flatbread Recipe - Duration: 4:18.

2 cups (250g) all purpose flour, 1 tsp salt

1 tsp instant yeast

1 tbsp oil

1/2 cup + 2 tbsp warm water (125ml + 2 tbsp)

Knead on floured surface. If you find it too dry, add little water to adjust.

Knead for about 5 minutes or until smooth

Put dough in a large bowl. Drop some oil into the dough and coat evenly.

Cover for about an hour

Divide into 4

Roll out into thin and long

Scallion butter : 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted. 2 tbsp chopped scallion. 3/4 tsp salt. Mix well and apply on the dough

1 cup shredded cheese for 4 pieces

Roll up and stretch out into a rope

The rope dough is about 40 cm (16 inches) long

Roll inward to form a snail

Roll and stretch out while rolling

Snail shape

Roll out into a thin circle

Cook in a pan without oil, medium high heat

Flip and dab with the remaining scallion butter. Flip twice and dab both sides with butter

Flaky delicious

that reminds you of a day five years ago.

Sometimes it shows you added your friend.

Sometimes it presents the day you traveled somewhere.

One day, a photo came up from my Facebook wall.

It was my friend's photo

I was not sure if I ...

...was familiar with this face? I was not sure if I ...

Why was that?

The girl on this photo looked so cute and young

and obviously a bit shy.

Then, I texted this girl and praised her new hairstyle.

She said that this photo

was from five years ago.

and right now, she's just a sloppy mama

with her newborn son in a messy life.

Plus,

I noted that she added no recent photos during these years.

I'm not surprised to hear so,

because this is very common for every fresh mother.

In fact,

time and things make us mature

so that we know whom we life for at different ages.

But you are still you

life just changes your life schedule

but you still have the same soul and same beautiful face.

Your son or busy job are both no good excuse to mess yourself up

On the other hand, you still can bring your kids

while wearing casual but beautiful clothes.

How about letting your baby know his mama

by showing photos several years later?

I actually know how pretty my mom was just by looking

at photos from when she was young.

And I feel so proud of her!

Now, I only know you can still choose your beauty by your heart.
