Hi everybody and welcome back to Relax My Dog, today me and Milo are going to
be doing a really really exciting video which you guys might recognize with your
favorite celebrities so let's get started
now for today's video, me and Milo thought that we would try to answer Google's most searched-for
questions relating to dogs, okay so we have our Google's most searched for
questions, so we're going to have a look at what you guys have been searching for
and tell you the answers, so our first question, thank you, is why do dogs eat
grass, this is a very very common question that a lot of people have
because obviously when your dog eats grass, you don't know whether it's a
good thing or a bad thing but actually a lot of dogs might do this to improve
their digestion, only 25% of dogs actually do this to vomit, to be sick and
which is the thing that a lot of people do believe that that's why your dog is
doing that, however it is quite common for your dog just to eat grass
out of habit, because they see other dogs doing it and generally just because they
want to get that nutrition from eating grass, they might just be hungry, okay so
the next question that you guys have asked on Google and that is why do dogs
howl, so dogs actually a howl as a way of vocal communication which can be used
to attract attention, to make their presence known or just to generally warn
you about something, your dog may also decide to howl because they hear a
high-pitched sound like an ambulance or a fire service or anything like that
that sort of triggers them to howl basically which Milo doesn't really howl, he's
not a really massively howl-ey dog, are you, you don't really howl, he barks a lot but
not really howl-ey, onto our third question, why do dogs lick, okay so your
dog might lick because they like the taste of a human's salty skin, I'm sure a lot of
you guys maybe thought that your dog licks to give you kisses
Milo knows kisses - Milo can I have a kiss, can I have a kiss, thank you - but it also
might be out of habit, they might have been trained to do that, but most of the
time it's because the dog likes the taste of a humans salty skin, which is obviously
natural for a human, as well as this when your dog licks your skin it can actually
release endorphins which creates pleasure and comfort for your dog which
can then help to relieve any sort of stress so your dog might
lick you because they'll feel comfortable around you and they want to
chill out a little bit more which I think it's very really cool for a doggie
to be able to do, now on to our fourth question which is why do dogs chew their
paws this is quite a common situation for many dogs especially around the
summer period, a dog might decide to lick their paws if they do have dry skin
which is quite common for most dogs, they might lick their paws to try and relieve
the itchiness that dry skin can create and to try and soothe it a little bit
more, as well as this a dog might chew their paws because they are suffering
from separation anxiety which basically means when you leave the house, they
might start to lick their paws, Milo can get like this quite a lot and if we are
upstairs or if he is a little bit sad he might just sit there and start
licking his paws and his paws get really really wet but we just put that down to
the fact that he might have separation anxiety, he is very much a dog that likes
to be around his owners, he likes to be comforted all the time, stroked all the
time, he is a very very loving dog which I think whenever he's on his own he
doesn't like so he might chew his paws in that sense, a way to try and stop
this is to leave toys with them, treats with them, things that you know that they
love when you're out of the house, you could also put on some Relax My Dog
music as well which helps dogs with separation anxiety if that's something that you
think your dog is suffering with, okay and our last question is why do dogs
shake, this is quite common for dogs, now there are many reasons why your dog
might decide to shake, number one, they might be quite an anxious dog in other
people's presence they might become a little bit more nervous, another way is
the fact that they might just be cold, so if they are cold try and make them a
little bit warmer, pop of jumper on them if they are a small dog, I know a lot of
dogs wear jumpers, it's not necessarily for a fashion statement they might just be
an extremely cold dog, you dog might also shake because they
are anxious or they are feeling some sort of pain, if your dog has sort of a
sore paw it might start to shake because they
feel it difficult to walk on etc, there's many factors that can contribute to why
your dog might be shaking but definitely do be aware that there is a thing
called Addison's disease which is where your dog excessively shakes, if you do
want to know more about that definitely do your own research to find out if your
dog sort of matches those symptoms. And that is it for this week's video, I
