Hey, what's up. My name is Michael Nuñez, and this is Technically Speaking.
First up!
Facebook is banning yet another data analytics company over how it collects and shares information.
Facebook says it is suspending Boston-based analytics company Crimson Hexagon following concern over
the company's data brokering with various governments, including the United States and Russia.
Facebook took action against Crimson Hexagon after the Wall Street Journal began asking questions about
oversight over these government contracts.
In a statement, Facebook said,
"We don't allow developers to build surveillance tools using information from Facebook or Instagram.
We take these allegations seriously, and have suspended these apps while we investigate."
Crimson Hexagon claims to have the largest repository of social media posts in the world,
with over 1 trillion conversations logged.
Last year, Facebook explicitly forbade developers from using its users' data for government surveillance.
The problem is that once data leaves Facebook, it can be hard for the company to recoup or keep track of that information,
as we saw in the Cambridge Analytica scandal earlier this year.
Facebook says its investigation "so far" hasn't found any evidence that Crimson Hexagon obtained Facebook or
Instagram data inappropriately.
We shall see if that continues.
Next up!
Google's parent company Alphabet has been largely unfazed by the record-setting $5.1 billion fine recently imposed
by the European Union.
During its quarterly earnings report, the company emphasized it still made $3.2 billion in profits after
absorbing the cost of the fine.
The stock rose 3.5 percent in after-hours trading.
But of course not all the damage has been done.
Following the antitrust case, European authorities have ordered Google
to stop requiring phone makers to install Google's search engine and
Chrome internet browser on devices in Europe
in order to use the Android operating system.
The big catch:
Is that it's up to Google to come up with a solution to the problem, and the company has a huge incentive to
find a solution that doesn't impact their bottom line
Plus, Google CEO Sundar Pichai has already said Google plans to appeal the charges.
And finally!
Google Docs is getting a much-needed grammar check.
The company announced at the Google Cloud Next conference that it is finally adding a grammar check
feature powered by AI to Google Docs
Surprising, Google Docs hasn't had a built-in grammar check until now, which has long been one of the key differences
between it and old-school word processors like Microsoft Word.
This new grammar check could be a real boon to users who work in Google Docs.
"Our AI can catch several different types of corrections, from simple grammatical
rules like how to use articles in a sentence (like 'a' versus 'an'),
to more complicated grammatical concepts such as how to use subordinate clauses correctly.
Machine learning will help improve this capability over time to detect trickier grammar issues,"
Google said in a statement.
So if you're the type of person who's still confusing "their" and "there," or "two" and "too,"
finally help is on the way.
Thanks for watching!

How To Know If Your Links are Crawled By Google - Duration: 2:28.
Hi, I'm Bruce Clay, and this is the Ask Us Anything series. My website has a drop
down navigation menu to better help users navigate my website. However, I fear
that Google might not be indexing my drop down links. How can I find out if
the links on my website are being crawled by Google. Well, that's a good
question, and people usually are concerned about that because they're
using like a JavaScript navigation package and they're not sure Google is
able to figure out that those are actually links to sub pages. The nice
thing is that Google is using a headless browser in many cases and is able to
decipher that this actually is a link so I think you don't have a lot of worry
about whether Google knows about it being a link. I'm pretty sure Google is
going to do it, they're going to see it, they're going to execute it, they're
gonna find your link, and they're gonna crawl from there. However, even then you
need some sort of extension you certainly should have an HTML sitemap
that links to all of the important pages on your site and you should have the
text link perhaps in your footer, ideally in your body that links to those
important navigation pages. So, if you have all three, I don't think you're
gonna find that it's a problem. Now, having said that, what you've done is
you've not become dependent upon your navigation as your only link. You really
want then for those pages to be crawled and identified so you're still going to
go look in search console, you're gonna find out if these pages are actually
linked to because if it's a navigation link, every page in your site will, in
theory, be linking to it. You can look for internal links and see that you actually
have links to those pages. So that would be the way to validate that.
In many cases, Google is using a headless browser and is able to determine what is a link.
You should always have an HTML sitemap that has all of your links listed.
You can double check in Google's Search Console if your pages are being identified.

At the End of the Line | Creepypasta Poetry | Dark Poems - Duration: 3:18.
Destiny willed that humanity would find nothing but dust and thorns amidst the squall.
From the tree's hollow we crawled;
The truth of our origins we're forced to haul.
Finding comfort among the mass,
Together, we choked on reality's toxic gas.
Stripped of all identity,
We melded into one entity
And united, we breathed in serenity.
I once realized that I, too, was part of the flies
Only to be drowned out by the deafening roar of their cries:
Hymns praising our "divine" defendant,
Portrayed resplendent and transcendent,
Ringing from the mouth of my descendant.
But the truth
Is never pure in the eye of the sleuth.
I was made to doubt;
Made to tread the unholy route;
Made to survive amidst knowledge's drought.
Humanity has established a great empire of false hope,
Supplementing truth for naive idealism to help them cope.
The despair of creation I now know
And with enlightenment I glow.
The error of our ways, I want to show.
I contemplated how to pierce their warped illusion
And in the knife's mirror edge, I saw the conclusion.
As I messily burrowed into my own brother's skin,
I asked "What have I become?" with a mad grin;
Praying that humanity would finally wake up to our sins.
For the reason we all breed, plead and bleed
Is because we choke out reality with self-deceit's weeds.
My family looked at what I had done,
The weight of my actions bearing down on them like the sun.
The tears my brother had shed
Were in their stead;
And upon similar sacrifices, we were lead.
Saints, martyrs and innocents alike give their bodies for society to tread:
My family was just the next string to be woven into death's grand thread.
Reemerging from deep night, I watched as they succumbed to phobias and fears;
Overcome by angst, impossibility courses through their veins and their flesh sears.
"My sins are too great to bear," they said through sneers.
The last of them forsook me as the tears I swallow;
My brethren retreated back to the hollow.
To be ripped away from acceptance's warmth by a mighty bird?
I only wanted my voice to be heard,
And now the truth has been irrevocably blurred.
Sour thoughts spilled in my mind;
And to all reason, I am blind.
In a lonely cabin, the rope was strung;
"Do it; just do it," the voices in my head rung,
Until their commands spilled from my necrotic tongue.
At the bell's final toll,
I realized my true role.
Revelation after revelation had shown
That I was truly alone;
The solution finally arrived as I sat on my throne.
My brethren retreated back to the hollow:
"Will I follow?"

Lower Blood Pressure Naturally With 6 Hacks - Duration: 14:39.
hi my name is Eric Michael founder of the power life system have you been told
that you have high blood pressure maybe or even on medications or maybe you've
been told by your doctor that you need to get this taken care of or there's
gonna be a lot of really negative effects and the fact is is that high
blood pressure that there's a lot of really really bad things towards body so
we want to get it taken care of and medications well they sound like they
were getting really great every single medication that I have researched or
even seen people on actually has a lot of really negative side effects so I'm
going to be sharing with you six hacks to naturally lower your blood pressure
and be healthier feel better and really have an overall better health before I
go in and I share the hacks with you I need to give you a disclaimer that this
is for informational purposes only you need to follow the instructions of your
primary care physician and this is not medical advice step one is the most
important and then why are you going to do the hacks you got to have the
motivation so you're either going to be motivated more by positive things for
example what you're going to be able to do the physical activities your
performance how great you're gonna feel or you're gonna be more motivated by
negative things like well laying in a hospital bed and tubes sticking out of
oneself not being able to do the things that one wants having bad performance so
identify what it is that motivates you the most and then expand on that if it's
positive really going to detail maybe even by the the swimsuit that you're
gonna use when you're on the beach jogging and running or whatever it is to
really make it real for you if it's negative which you could visit a
hospital I know that sounds really bad however that the heart behind it is that
the more motivated you are the more you're actually going to do something
that you're gonna get the results which are going to be fantastic for you so
pause the video identify the motivation expand it a little bit more and even
write down this is what's going to motivate me with
is what motivates me this is my greatest desire and I'm gonna achieve it by a
certain date so that you have this fire behind you and this this path should
actually do something and get the phenomenal results you're gonna get hack
number two is make foods your ally and I wanna share I love chocolate I love
pizza I love you know fried shrimp they're so tasty however what we need to
do is we need to develop the habit even more of when we see something in front
of us that we know is not healthy well he might be able or what is not healthy
well okay what is healthy are gonna be natural things like fruits and
vegetables legumes like beans and well for example clean that types of proteins
well be like a free-range chicken if not hit a little sell it actually a
manufactured processed little pellets or things like that or free-range meats or
animals and or free or fish that actually is not very high in mercury or
other pollutants and so many fish are these days so if it's chicken really
simple if you're eating vegetables legumes and fruits you're probably going
to that that's that would be the healthy core then you can add on some things
like free-range chicken clean meats they're not pumped full of antibiotics
eggs some and clean fish if you can find it where you live so anything outside of
that processed foods cakes cupcakes chocolate pizza and all of that is put a
fried foods a probably negatively affect your blood pressure I mean it's gonna
cause it to go up so what you can do is a simple activity that I've done
personally it's work really well is that when you look at something for example
let's say a cake okay what you need to do is then think about immediately what
it is that's gonna motivate you the negative side of things right what's
gonna happen if you eat that well you picture being in a hospital bed okay
that's what's going to motivate that's what's going to be negative to reduce
the proceeded pleasure that cake and then instead of say an apple you can
associate with a meaning visual at that moment you look at the Apple the
positive thing meaning being healthy performance running on the beach looking
great being able to do all you want to deal with whatever age or technical you
know birth that you have then what do you do those two steps the more you're
naturally going to associate greater pleasure with things like an apple or a
melon or papaya you know things like that they're gonna be sweet and tasty
and beneficial for you instead of things like it's like a pizza or chocolate
they're gonna actually cause your blood pressure to go up
hack number three is activity well you may be thinking well you and
your job here you're sitting a lot using a computer well you can set a time or
there's little app so you can use or you can do it proactively it's get up and
walk around at least every 30 minutes you can do what I did is I got it under
a desk a little bike and house it got a standing desk and I was losing weight
using those and I don't really have a lot of weight to lose but my weight
actually went down some when I was using those so I was getting even slimmer and
and more and more I guess bit so as long as you're getting up and moving around
that's what matters we're designed as hunter-gatherers we were out and about
we were doing things we weren't designed to be sitting for these higher days so
it's recently really important to is activity and we're gonna go back to the
the motivation is is that when you think about oh I don't know if I want to get
up I'm watching my TV show or whatever think about what you're gonna get the
positive thing and think about the negative things you identified if you
keep on sitting there you can even watching your TV show or on social media
and you can actually lead a lifting your feet it's in walking in place so you
really have the flexibility to it's it's a decision it's gonna do so many
wonderful things for you trust me hack number four is do something fun for
you every single day or as often as you feel a desire to do something fun right
don't make doing something fun stressful where you have to do it oh my gosh I'm
stressed because I didn't do something fun today no don't take it to that
extreme point though of it is that for example
for me I love getting a massage on the beach I love getting and I say well I'm
here in Brazil so that's a little more common or coconut water and just just
won't listen to the ocean watching the sunset I absolutely love that I love
watching the sunrise too so identify what it is for you something you really
enjoy it doesn't have to be I'll go swim with the whales or go take a trip to
Hawaii it can be something really simple for
example I think coconut water costs about the equivalent of like 75 cents
okay in u.s. dollar so it's really simple however what it does for me is it
puts me in a great state I or even an even greater stay right I feel great and
my blood pressure goes down right so if you do something you enjoy maybe it's
walking in nature playing ball playing catch playing in the pool we're saying
plane right not exercise them you have to exercise doing fun for yourself and
really open up to new fun things if fun for you normally is I know some
individuals and fun for them is reading a book sitting down where it's watching
a TV show sitting on a couch okay let's expand it a little bit more to get you
outside the nature as a wonderfully calming effect being around animals and
I don't mean like Tigers chasing you or bears chasing you but for example dogs
and cats petting dogs and cats you can lower with blood pressure you've put a
nice dogs or cats get outside be open to do new things or test out things that
could be fun for you that actually get you moving at you outside of nature and
outside basically in a clean air area and that's gonna do wonderful things for
your blood pressure naturally it's gonna go down it's gonna be even healthier and
you're gonna feel great hack number five is relaxation and it's as simple as this
is at least three times a day yes I said three start out where you are start were
you comfortable get to three times per day within 30 days is place your
attentional your entire body allow you from your feet to your head to relax
even more completely then give thanks for all things in all areas of life then
send great energy to other people you can visualize it descending from the sky
or that you're radiating out what a white light and then visualize the
things you most desire in your life already realize everything you most want
you're already doing and now really connect with the feelings you have would
be positive I mean you just accomplish whatever it is you most want and expand
those feelings of happiness of joy of calmness and peace and every time I
repeat it allow these emotions of positive feelings and how you visualize
to grow and be even more clear more intense and the more you do this the
more will help your blood pressure be even lower naturally and then hack
number six is I think the most important and it's called do a habit reset or
what's that habit reset well how did we said is this I'll give
you an example is an individual I know he wakes up in the morning they take a
test his blood pressure and he sees this a little bit too high so then he gets
stressed and then he goes higher and then he argues a lot with his wife or
not a lot but let's just say at least once a month a lot of times more often
than that and that causes her to get upset and then she's upset she's not as
sweet as she usually is she's a really sweet heart and then that causes his
blood pressure to go up even higher and then he tries he has some exercise and
when it doesn't work instead of doing different exercises maybe
different types of movements you get some more stressed as blood pressure
goes up and I've kind of a habit loop he has and then he takes some blood
pressure medications that statins and other ones but they cause some side
effects that are causing other issues so you might be listen to this saying well
gosh that's his habit loop is pretty ridiculous and his blood pressure is
just going to keep on going up and we yes and we're looking at it from an
outsider we all have our own habit loops the key is to have habit loops that are
going to be productive toward what it is that we want so pause the video for a
second and then write down what are some things that you're doing right now I can
habitually that is similar to what I gave you that's B maybe before during or
that you can identify that is something that you're doing that's causing your
blemish or maybe even go up higher maybe you getting stressed maybe you aren't
going out and doing some movement activities maybe you you eat these same
foods and then before you're eating them you're thinking oh I'm kind of sad my
blemishes too high so I'm gonna eat the food to feel better whatever it is
there's a habit of going on either on the foods the movements the thought
process the relaxation or the or on the run around the blood pressure or
reliable relationship so identify that that that's that that habit loop and
once you identify it then ask yourself what are the corners to live with the
positive intention behind having that habit look like what do I have it you
know identify likely a positive intention for example a positive
intention for this person I would say is probably that he wants to be a lot
healthier he wants to feel a lot better and the idea is that if he stressed and
he's upset and so and so forth that that's gonna help him but actually it's
not but there's a positive intention behind it now that you have the positive
intention ask yourself what is one thing like the cornerstone like that the
foundational thing maybe the first thing that you think or you do that you could
adjust and adjust it just a tiny bit so still your comfort zone that could
change this whole habit loop for example this individual like one thing he could
do would be to for example its company a big thing would be to get let's say a
coach to give them different exercises to do and probably doing different
movements another thing he could do is let's just say when he wakes up in the
morning is be sweet to his wife get her a flower okay well how is that gonna
change the habit loop well that's gonna change the entire habit loop because now
instead of kind of being upset intention that she gets upset that she's gonna be
sweet and when someone Suites your blood pressure goes down and then as a follow
up on the flower he could go out into nature and say let's go rock in nature
so that's now changed the whole thing instead of being in the house all day
long they're outside in beautiful nature and she's feeling wonderful she got a
flower who doesn't like to get a flower so that's an example you need to find
out what it is for yourself it's gonna be unique for every single person or if
it's something really small it's easy it's in your comfort zone and it's gonna
basically be like the first thing for the rest of the habit loop and once you
change that one little thing instead of having kind of a habit loop that could
be negative that's raising your blood pressure can be able habit loop like the
example I gave you that's when it's gonna be causing it to go and get even
lower I really hope this was beneficial to you I believe that regardless of
whatever your blood pressure is right now it give me a lot healthier by doing
these six hacks so let's go and do them as a follow-up to help you with your
your health and all different areas of your life because they're all really
interconnected I created a quiz like a quiz it's a 30 second a pre quiz you can
click below or click on the link wherever it is and identify what area of
your life you can benefit with benefiting and improving the most right
now it's the most important to you and they'll give you the next steps because
I believe that when you improve you know every area of your life it's going to
improve well your health area and everything maybe it's your health I'll
give you some follow-up tips to help maximize that as well and I've been
there I've been there and really some incredible improvement of
myself and the students who follow this fantastic - I thank you ahead of time
for giving the video a thumbs up and for sharing it with other people - so we can
help even more people naturally make their blood pressure even healthier
subscribe to the channel so I can contribute more to you I want to give
you more beneficial videos I have so many more topics and finally I think you
ahead of time for giving a comment on something you liked about the video and
some a question or some follow-up that what you would like me to go into even
more detail about so that I can benefit you your life and then everyone you come
in contact with make this a fantastic day
lots of love. Thank you!

Now, this shouldn't come as much of a surprise but Team DOOM came out on top this time
With the next Doom Marathon and the Doom 3 redo tying in together for first place with
four votes each.
coming in at second place both tied together with three
votes each the elusive and mysterious "Secret" Doom cover and Halo 3's
"Never Forget" quite happy to see that one made it. And, in third place is Ace Combat Zero's
"Mayhem". So there you have it. This will be the next group of covers I'll be
tackling I also want to note that the marathon is going to be sort of a dual
marathon that will consist of the Plutonia MIDI pack as well as the
recently released Doom 64 for Doom 2 mod. So that'll be fun! I also want to go over
some honorable mentions that received one vote or were mentioned in a comment
in the Cover Battlegrounds video. So first up is the Metroid Prime main theme
and there's also a vote for Undertale's Asgore theme, the Vegito Blue theme from
Dragon Ball Super. Water World from Duke Nukem 3D and lastly a vote for any of
the Persona songs in my cover to-do list. Lastly, I want to let you guys know that
these "Honorable Battlegrounds Mentions" have been
marked in orange now on the main page of the covers to-do-list
now with the first

Big Pharma Jumps In To Stop Trump From Lowering Prescription Drug Prices - Duration: 5:33.
Donald Trump promised us on the campaign trail that he was going to lower prescription drug
prices here in the United States.
It's something he's actually hinted at throughout his presidency, yet so far, they haven't actually
really done anything about it.
However, just as this administration was starting to actually look at the problem, and they
were trying to come up with some kind of plan to address the issue, Big Pharma sent their
lobbyists and their front groups, specifically the front group called PhRMA, P-H-R-M-A, to
meet with the President, and submit a draft proposal of what they could do to allegedly
lower prescription drug prices.
Two days after these groups met with the President, the administration released their plan to
lower prescription drug prices, and it was almost word for word the same proposal that
was submitted to them by Big Pharma itself.
Here's what that plan is.
According to these pharmaceutical lobbying groups, the problem with high drug prices
is not the fault of the drug companies, it's the fault of, as they say, "major players
along the drug supply chain, including insurance companies, and the pharmacy benefit managers."
Okay.
Pharmacy benefit managers are the main culprits according to Big Pharma, and those are the
ones being targeted by their proposals.
Here's what they say that these people do.
These people negotiate with insurance companies and pharmacies in order to get a specific
insurance company to cover a specific drug from a drug company.
Okay.
And then, they come up with rebates and then those pharmacy benefit managers get paid a
commission off of the number of rebates that get submitted, and because of this, it incentivizes
people to raise the cost of the prescription drugs, double them in some cases, so that
they can create a bigger rebate, which gives these pharmacy benefit managers more profit.
This is actually true.
That is a thing that happens.
Big Pharma is correct about that.
However, that is not the main reason that drug prices in the United States are so high,
and that is not the target that we need to be focused on if we want to lower prescription
drug prices.
Yes, we have to take greed out of the equation, and that's what these benefit managers are
doing.
That's what their entire career is based off of, greed.
They don't care how many people get better.
They just care about how many people take the drugs and cash the rebates, so they can
get the money from it, from the increased prescriptions from it.
What we have to do is, first and foremost, ban, like every other country in the world
except for, I think it's New Zealand, we have to ban, once again, direct to consumer advertising.
As soon as direct to consumer advertising happened here in the United States in the
late '90s, drug prices skyrocketed.
Why?
Because Big Pharma companies were spending billions of dollars every year on marketing,
and they had to get that money back.
The majority of the costs associated with any prescription drug, here in the United
States, do not come from the research and development, most of which is actually subsidized
by the federal government, or conducted by outside universities, who then hand it over
to the pharmaceutical companies.
The main cost is the marketing.
That's why our prescription drugs are so much higher than everyone else.
That's at least one reason they're so much higher than everyone else.
If we do not address that issue, we cannot ever fix the problem.
Ever.
Like, that's first and foremost.
We have to do that to fix it.
If we're not going to take that issue seriously, we will always pay more than everyone else
for these prescription drug prices.
Second, Republicans have to get on board with the multiple Democratic legislative proposals
to import safer prescription drugs.
Now, the administration included in their little plan a separate plan to import drugs
from other countries that would be cheaper.
However, they put too many caveats on it to make it actually lower drug prices here in
the United States.
For example, they said that, yes, we can import drugs, but only if there is a specific drug
shortage for that medicine here in the United States.
And the drugs that are going to be imported are drugs that currently only make up, I think,
.1% of total pharmaceutical sales here in the United States.
Drug companies have also, in a show of good faith, agreed to lower prices on some of their
prescription drugs.
However, as is the case of Merck at least and a couple others, they're only lowering
the prices on drugs that very few people actually take, drugs that do not make up any significant
portion of their sales.
They're trying to hoodwink this administration and, unfortunately, the administration is
falling for it, and the people who suffer are the people who need these medications
in order to either get better and in some cases, actually just stay alive.
