Guy Fieri Shows Jimmy His Bun-Cradling, Burger-Eating Technique - Duration: 3:29.

-I just put this together from what you had in your break room.

-What in the world is this burger?

Oh, my gosh.

So, this is the smokehouse burger.

We make this at my restaurants. We've got pulled pork,

18-hour smoked brisket, house-cured bacon,

super-melted cheese, you name it, but all together.

I think you do really need to get after it.

-Really? -Yeah.

That's why I brought you napkins.

-Yeah, I appreciate that. -I can spot for you.

I don't know -- you've been kind of a mess

-[ Laughs ] I've been a mess this whole show, but --

-Should've brought a bedsheet out.

-Like I'm hosting "Double Dare," yeah.

Here we go. [ Laughter ]

With alcohol. -Let's get the stick out

of there. I don't need an eye-poke.

-Yeah, and that would be me right there, right?

So how do I eat -- -Can I recommend?

-Yes, do I just -- -It's the hunch.

So you, give it a smash. -Okay.

-Okay, smash it. There you go. There you go.

-Yep. -Now both hands, 'cause you got

to get underneath it. -Okay.

-Cradle it.

[ Laughter ]

-You want me to cradle it? -Cradle these buns.

-Cradle the buns, okay.

-There you go. -All right.

-It's about three pounds or so. Okay, there you go.

Up underneath. Under, under, under.

-Yep. -You're going to drip.

It's going to go on your nose. -Okay.

-It's dripping now. -All right.

And just go for it? -You want to get --

[ Cheers and applause ]

That's a good bite. -That is a good burger.

-That's a good burger? -Dude, you guys want to try

this thing? [ Cheers and applause ]

-I only brought one! Is it going to work?

-No, it'll work. -All right.

[ Cheers and applause ]

[ Band plays jazz ]

Who? -I mean, anyone.

[ Audience shouting ]

All right, here you go.

Here, I'll do -- I'll take care of it.

-Are you doing -- the napkin placement is always key.

-Yep, Sorry, I made a little mess

on myself, I just want to make sure.

-I think you just got stains. -Yep, there you go.

-Okay, now I want to see a power bite out of this.

You might want to stand, okay?

[ Cheers and applause ]

I want to see him really own this.

-Own this one. -Okay.

Show me how it's done. -You gotta cradle it!

-Come on -- you got it. [ Laughter ]

-Yeah! [ Cheers and applause ]

That's how you do it! That is how --

It's unbelievable, right? That is how you do it.

-There you go, take it! -That's for the whole row.

Take it. Have fun. -Keep the whole thing.

-Oh, my gosh. That is the biggest burger

I have ever seen.

Whoa!

Guy Fieri!

That's how to do it, buddy.

Dude, I love you, you always go big.

Thank you, I appreciate that. -I saw the whole burger thing

going down, I think you did great.

We're not going to do the egg thing, though.

I don't like eggs. -We don't do that thing.

Oh, you know what I wanted to tell you something?

-Please. -Since I last saw you,

I smoked a bologna. And --

-What? -I smoked --

-You got to start explaining real quick.

-No, 'cause we talked about smoked --

-Oh, yeah. -Smoking.

So I smoked -- I smoked my first bologna.

-Continues to sound more -- Nicely done!

I'm going to tell you -- it's a delicacy down in the South.

I see a lot of places do it. Not as many as should do it,

but it's -- and a little mustard going with that.

-Yes, that's what I'm talking about.

-America is all about the mom-and-pop joints.

-Yeah. -I'm telling you.

And so often they're not on the beaten path,

you know, that everybody goes up Main Street

and the little mom-and-pop places can't afford that rent.

So you kind of get off that path and you look around

and you'll find these places, and those are the gems.

But it's these mom-and-pop joints

They're the ones that support our military,

they're the ones that get behind our fam--

And to be the guy that gets to go out there

and find these joints and celebrate them

and highlight them -- couldn't be a better job.

-I love it. I love that you do it.

[ Cheers and applause ] We love you for doing that.

What is this -- you have "Guy's Grocery Games" as well.

-Right. -That's -- that's a super fun --

like a fun game show thing where you --

-I would love to put you in that store.

-I would be okay.

-It is the coolest grocery store in the world.

We take all of the groceries that are going to expire

before they do, and we donate them to the mission

in our town of Santa Rosa in Northern California.

So it's an awesome -- -See, that's cool.

[ Cheers and applause ] -It's a win-win!

-I love it, dude. And what is the --

'Cause I love the reunion shows.

You're going to do -- you're going to do like a "Triple D"

"Where are they now?" type of special.

Is that -- -Yeah, we're going to --

It's called "Triple D Nation."

So everybody wants -- and people ask me all the time --

I've only been to 1,100.

And they'll say, "That one place,

the time and the guy..." -"With the burger."

-"And he had that. And then remember?"

-Yeah, and you're like, "Oh, yeah! I remember that."

-"Oh, that was a great --" no.

And I can't remember them all, but what it is,

is the stories that have happened, people --

the lives that it's changed, the growth they've had.

I mean, we've had places open 10 restaurants

after they got filmed.

-I've been to at least 10 restaurants where they go,

"Made famous from Guy's 'Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives'"

or whatever -- "Divers..."

-Yeah, yeah. -"Triple D."

-"But Guy Fieri put us on the map."

Dude, and they put you right in the window,

saying that you basically helped their business.

-I think people are really going to dig the stories

and all the, you know, just, like, what takes place

and where people are in their lives of being --

'Cause when you're in the restaurant business,

you ain't doing it for making money.

You do it because you love people and you love food.

-Yeah, you do a great job, buddy.

Mindy Kaling Talks About Her Movie Late Night - Duration: 2:04.

-This is very exciting.

You wrote a film called "Late Night."

-Yes. -It is not about

this show, "Late Night," but it is about a late-night talk show.

-But we did steal the name of your show.

-You did take it. -By the way, thank you.

-I can't blame you, because the name of my show

is just a description of the show.

So there's no other --

-Thank you for being so generous.

That's very nice.

-But Emma Thompson plays a late-night television host.

There she is. You play one of her writers.

There's our friend Ike Barinholtz,

so I guess he's just playing a lump.

-This is the most boring night of TV.

[ Laughter ] This is the first

and second guest on this show that Emma Thompson's doing.

-But it must have been --

How was it working with Emma Thompson?

-She's unbelievable. I mean, it's In a world

where there is a female late-night talk-show host

on a major network,

so it's in a -- it's in a crazy world.

[ Cheers and applause ]

-I think in a world we'd all like to live in.

-A world -- So in a bizarro, alternate universe.

But it's so great.

And you came and were on the movie -- spoiler alert...

-Yes. -...which was so nice of you.

-You let me play myself, which is about the limits of my range.

[ Laughter ]

-You were very -- You were so great in it.

And they did a lot of research for this movie.

I did a lot of research.

But you were so kind to let the director come to the set.

And I went to up to the writers' room floor

to do research on this.

-It was the most exciting thing

that ever happened to my writers.

-No, they were so nice, and I came in,

and, of course, I'm just like, "Oh, okay.

These New York writers are gonna think this is so glamorous,

this actress is there."

And I'm sitting, asking about their --

And I'm like, "Oh, do you guys need to be working?"

And they're like, "Yes." [ Laughter ]

"You have to leave."

-I think, in general, this tracks back

to what happened with the doctor.

-Yeah. -Like, you need to

expect less attention from people who are working.

-Less attention. I know.

This is when I came to New York, thinking, like,

"Oh, these guys are gonna love

a little bit of Hollywood in their lives."

[ Laughter ]

And they're like, "No, our lives are fine.

We've been doing fine." [ Laughter ]

But it was -- your whole writing staff was so nice.

It's so nice to be back here. -I saw you recently,

and we were talking about -- You have a baby. Kit.

-I have a baby. -How is Kit doing?

-Kit is doing great. She's 5 months old.

-Fantastic. -And actually,

I've been living in New York for a couple months now.

-There you go. -Thank you. Yes.

And one of the things -- You were so kind.

You and your wife Alexi were so kind.

You recommended a doctor. -Yeah.

-And she's an amazing doctor.

-She's great. -For my child.

And so I went in with her to get her shots,

and one of the -- This is a cool doctor,

'cause the first thing she said to me, she was like,

"Hi. Just so you know, I don't watch any TV."

[ Laughter ]

And to me, of course, that meant, like,

it was like a challenge to me. -Yeah.

-She's just not into -- I don't know if she's said this to you.

Like, she's just like, "I don't watch any TV."

-But I have to say, if she says that,

like, she's watched a little. -She's watched a little TV.

-To know that that's something she needs to tell you.

-Yeah. And instead of being like,

"Okay, this is about my daughter and getting her shots,"

I was like, "Now I gotta impress this woman."

And so I was like, "No? You don't watch any TV?

What about films?" [ Laughter ]

"Have you seen 'A Wrinkle in Time'?

I know Oprah."

And she's just like, "Truly, I just need to give your daughter

a vaccination to extend her life."

And I'm like, "But I was on 'The Office' with Steve Carell."

[ Laughter ] And she just --

She just didn't care. But she's a good doctor.

-This is very exciting, to be in this "Ocean's 8" film

with all these incredible actresses.

-Yeah. -And you guys famously are on

a text chain together. -Yes.

-Do you guys still -- Is this still an existing text chain?

-Well, we are on a text chain together.

And then, what happened was we have been talking

about the text chain. So Nora -- Awkwafina,

who is in the movie -- was like, "I think someone might hack

one of our phones." -Right.

-"To get the information," which I thought was smart.

So we got -- She named some app

that we could have another text chain.

But we had to, like, come up with our fake names

on the text chain. And some of us were...

just used their first name because they're more mature.

And I was Sarahpaulsonfan69...

[ Laughter ]

...since Sarah Paulson is in the movie.

And then she was manboob69.

So that's the level.

-Okay, that's the level of discourse that's happening.

-Of discourse on this chain.

-You obviously, for a big film like this,

you've had to do a ton of press. -Yeah.

-How has that been? -It's been mostly great

because the other actresses are really fun.

And it's nice to do press with them.

But today -- You know, so when you're doing these heist movies,

everyone has, like, their special power,

which is why Debbie Ocean, like, pulls us together

to do this heist.

And so an interviewer, this male interviewer --

We're doing international press. He was -- I was doing press

with Anne Hathaway and with Sarah Paulson.

And he was, like, was asking us, like, Annie, she's an actress.

In the movie, she plays an actress.

And Sarah Paulson, she's a party promoter in it.

And then with me, she was like, okay -- he was like,

"Mindy, you play a jeweler.

"Now you are not married and have never been engaged.

So how do you know about diamonds?"

[ Laughter ]

'Cause it's all about diamonds and stealing diamond necklaces.

And I was like, "I'm sorry." So he's basically like,

"How you, a famous spinster..." [ Laughter ]

"How would you --

"You've never been anywhere near a diamond before.

No man has ever --" It's like as though

if you're not married and engaged,

you've never seen a diamond.

You have -- And it was... -It also seems to be

that he has a fundamental misunderstanding of acting.

-Yes. Yes. [ Laughter ]

-Because you could have said like, "By the way,

none of us have robbed a museum." Yeah.

-None of us have robbed a museum.

But he was so incredulous. -Yeah.

-He was like, "I can't put this together.

"No man has ever loved you. So in what way would you --"

I know. It was -- -That strikes me

as a very European press question.

Like, "Yes, we do not -- We ask the question we think of,

and you cannot take offense."

-Yes, without giving away too much,

yes, that is a correct guess.

[ Laughter ] Yeah.

-You guys filmed at the museum, at the Met at night.

Was that a cool scene, to be filming there?

-Yes. A lot of the movie takes place at a fake Met Gala.

And you've been there before... -Yeah.

-...which is very glamorous. So for most of the actresses,

they got to wear, like, gowns and go to the fake Met Gala.

And when I heard about the script, I thought,

"Oh, this is -- I love fashion, I love the Met Gala."

But we were going through the script,

and all of them are there,

and I am playing a short order chef at the Met.

So I'm three floors down,

in, like, at the bowels of the Met, like, washing dishes.

So without giving too much spoiler alert, like, you know,

Sandy is looking so beautiful

and Anne Hathaway is looking beautiful.

And they then they cut to me, and I'm like --

I'm literally washing dishes.

And I have my earpiece. And I'm like...

And then I have to go, "Miguel, I'm going on my break!"

[ Laughter ]

And then I spend the rest of the movie

in a large bathroom stall,

assembling a necklace.

-Yeah. -So that's what I got to do.

[ Laughter ] -But that made sense to me.

That makes sense to me because you have been to a bathroom.

-Yes. [ Laughter ]

So I understood this part.

This part makes sense.

U.S. court orders Samsung Electronics to pay $539 million to Apple for patent infringement - Duration: 0:43.

A U.S. court ordered Samsung Electronics to pay a total of 5-hundred-39 million dollars

to Apple in compensation for design patent infringement.

A California court made the ruling Thursday, some seven years after the patent battle between

the two giants broke out.

Apple sued Samsung for "slavishly" copying its smartphone and tablet technology in 2011,

and had originally demanded one billion dollars in compensation.

With the latest ruling, the Korean tech titan will have to pay around 1-hundred-40 million

dollars, as Samsung had previously paid 3-hundred-99 million for some of the patents included in

the case.

While Apple is content with the decision...

Samsung is considering all options to challenge the ruling.

Video footage released of Punggye-ri nuclear test site demolition - Duration: 3:13.

The journalists from various countries invited to witness the destruction of North Korea's

key nuclear test site returned to the press center in Wonsan.

Meaning access to internet again, and the video footage of the process... is revealed

to the world.

Lee Ji-won has the highlights of the event designed to display the regime's willingness

to denuclearize

North Korea's Punggye-ri nuclear test site, in the country's northeastern Hamgyongbuk-do

Province, became a thing of the past on Thursday.

After a long, arduous journey, the reporters were taken close to the North Portal, also

known as tunnel number 2 -- the place where the regime has conducted most of its nuclear

tests, from the second one to the sixth.

There they were briefed by the Deputy Chair of the North's Nuclear Weapons Institute,

Kang Kyung-ho.

Kang said preparations to shut the site had been made after plans for its closure were

announced two weeks ago.

The regime, he said, had halted building work,... and removed cables, test equipment and pipes.

The only stage left was for the reporters to witness the demolition of the tunnels and

remaining facilities.

And at 11 a.m., the North Portal was blown up.

The first blast destroyed the entrance to it, sending rocks and soil flying.

Then inside the tunnel there were more explosions... as if to assure the reporters that everything

inside the portal had been destroyed.

Soon, another blast destroyed an observation building near the entrance.

A second round of explosions took place at 2:17 p.m., starting at the West Portal, known

as tunnel number 4, and then at nearby living quarters thirty minutes later.

A thundering explosion, and all that was left of the building was rubble and dust.

The third round of explosions took place slightly past 4 in the afternoon, destroying the last

remaining tunnel, number 3,... also known as the South Portal.

15 minutes later, a military barracks was also blown up.

Once the explosions were over, Deputy Chair Kang officially declared the test site closed.

"The Democratic People's Republic of Korea's Nuclear Weapons Institute held a ceremony

that completely demolished the northern nuclear test site on May 24th, 2018 to transparently

show our willingness to cease nuclear testing.

By blowing up the tunnels, we completely blocked the entrances to them, as well as a number

of security facilities and observation buildings.

There were no radiation leaks nor was there any fundamental impact on the surrounding

environment."

He added that the cessation of nuclear tests is an important step in the world's nuclear

disarmament and that the North will continue working together with people of peace to build

a nuclear-free, peaceful world.

The ceremony wrapped up at around 5 p.m., Thursday evening.

And at 7p.m., the international reporters started on the long trip back to their hotel

in Wonsan, where they are now.

They fly back to Beijing on Saturday.

South Korea's foreign ministry on Thursday welcomed North Korea's move and said that

it sees the site's demolition as the North's first step in fulfilling its pledge to denuclearize.

Fastest way to improve english communication - The Imitation Method - Duration: 3:44.

Hello friends, I am Vanisa from EngVarta - The only app where you can practice english

communication with live experts, anytime anywhere.

So, if you think English gaane sunne se aa appki english acchi ho jayegi..

yes fir English Grammar books padhne se apko english aa jayegi..

English newspapers padhne se aa jayegi..

Toh aap bilkul galat hain..

Kyu ki - Ye ek language hai..

Or ise bolkar hi aap seekh sakte hain..

Jitni practice aap krenge utni hi jldi app seekhenge.

So today I will tell you one technique of speaking jisme apko kisi ki bhi help lene ki bilkul bhi jaroorat

nhi hai.

This technique will help you to improve many aspects of spoken English.

So kya hai ye technique..

Learning through imitation Imitation is the Ability to express your thoughts

and ideas effectively without someone's help.

In simple words Nakal karna.

I am not asking you to cheat, just listen and act.

In this technique all you need is yourself and a speaker to whom you want to copy.

You can imitate from many things like movies, news channels or any TV series.

Anything you listen just try to imitate.

Suppose let's take an example- We humans have to be responsible towards the

environment..'

You have to imitate..

We Humans

Have to be

responsible towards

the environment..'

Start imitating from small sentences you listen from any source of speaker you like.

They could be your favourite actor's dialogues, umm any news reader or any youtuber, like

me.

After starting with small sentences you can move towards the complex ones and try to use

it in your own sentences.

One more thing which you could do is to wait for the speaker to complete the sentence and

then imitate in the same way, with the exact pronunciations.

This will also help you to upgrade your vocabulary and polish your english communication skills with

the right pronunciation.

This is called Implicit learning. This is the activity of learning something in an incidental

manner without awareness of what has been learned.

With this technique, aapko pata bhi nhi chalega aur aap bahut kuch seekh bhi jayenge.

Jaise ki baache seekhte hain. aap dhire dhire simple sentences se

imitation start karte hue complex sentences ki

taraf badh sakte hain.

If you practice this technique daily, you will definitely improve your english communication

skills..

Next time, jab bhi aap koi movie dkhein, ya youtube pe koi video dkhein toh is

technique ki practice jarur krein.

aur fir dkhiye kaise aur kitni jaldi aap seekh jate

hain.

and if you need any further help we are here at Engvarta to always guide you.

Thank you & have a great day!

Inside the U.S., politicians split over the sudden decision.

Leaders around the globe expressed regret over the development.

Cha Sang-mi shares with us their responses.

The international community was rocked by the cancellation of what would've been a historic

summit.

Within the United States, there were mixed responses within Congress.

Most Republican lawmakers approved of President Trump's decision -- with some saying the meeting

would have been "treacherous" if it had gone ahead.

House Speaker Paul Ryan said shortly after the announcement,... that North Korea must

show more commitment to a peaceful resolution, and the maximum pressure campaign must continue.

Democrats criticized President Trump for making a (quote) "amateur" decision that shows his

lack of preparedness for the meeting.

The Pentagon said it's fully prepared to respond to any provocative actions from the North.

The director of the U.S. Joint Staff, Lieutenant General Kenneth McKenzie. said that if any

provocations came from Pyongyang, the U.S. would work with its allies to confront them.

Meanwhile, world leaders are voicing their disappointment.

Singapore, which would have hosted the Kim-Trump talks, said it "regrets" the U.S.' decision.

The country's foreign ministry hoped for continued "efforts to find lasting peace and stability

on the Korean Peninsula".

Russian President Vladimir Putin said he regretted Trump's decision, and claimed North Korea

had been keeping its promises.

And speaking at a joint press conference with Putin in Saint Petersburg, French President

Emmanuel Macron said he hoped the announcement would just be "a small event" in the bigger

long-term picture.

The British government said it was disappointed the summit would no longer go ahead.

A spokesperson for Prime Minister Theresa May also called for the complete denuclearization

on the Korean Peninsula,... and the UK will continue to work with its international partners

until it's achieved.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres also expressed deep disappointment,... and urged

all parties to continue dialogue for the peace and denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula.

The Japanese government had a somewhat different stance.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga, at a press conference, showed "understanding"

of the cancellation, as he pledged to continue to put pressure on Pyongyang until it gives

up its nuclear weapons.

North Korea's closest neighbor China called on Washington and Pyongyang to continue to

push for denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula.

Beijing's foreign ministry spokesperson Lu Kang also praised Pyongyang's dismantlement

of its nuclear test site.

N. Korea-U.S. Summit cancellation not a surprise: Experts - Duration: 3:20.

Some perceive Trump's shocking decision an impulsive one.

But there are those who believe it is a calculated move, perhaps even a negotiation strategy

Oh Soo-young help us find out if there's a method to his madness.

The sudden cancellation of the North Korea-U.S. summit may have been a sudden decision, but

it wasn't entirely a surprise.

Experts on North Korea told Arirang News Friday it was clear both sides lacked working-level

preparations for a meeting on June 12th.

"I think the American side particularly wasn't ready.

Donald Trump wasn't focusing on this very much.

He was interested in the drama and theatre of it.

But it wasn't clear the president was doing the research in the time and the study necessary

to actually debate these complex issues with the North.

North Korea's behavior in the last couple of weeks didn't help.

They stood up American negotiators in Singapore, they just left them standing there for three

days in a row.

The whole thing was just going too fast."

Without sufficient back-channel talks, major sticking points remain unresolved.

According to some experts, that is why both Washington and Pyongyang, over the past week,

indicated they may call the summit off.

"There's a little gamesmanship going on here.

In Trump's case, a lot of the critics were saying he seems to eager for the summit, so

he's playing hard to get.

And the North Koreans have a history of also playing hard to get.

North Koreans said they would walk out if the U.S. was forcing them to denuclearize."

Pyongyang has called for a gradual process of scrapping its nukes -- an approach Washington

has resisted, given the North's track record of breaking promises and backing out of verifying

its nuclear dismantlement.

"My strong hunch is serious people are working on the U.S side, we want to have the North

stop producing plutonium and highly enriched uranium.

That's the first order of business.

We probably want to have the second location of the enrichment site told to us early on....

some declaration of how much high enriched uranium and plutonium it has produced and

how many nuclear weapons they have.

They don't have to do this right at the summit but it is the key, critical early step."

North Korea, on its part, is also likely to demand concrete steps from the U.S. -- first

and foremost, a security guarantee for its ruling regime.

"They want to make sure if they do give up some of their nuclear weapons program, the

Americans won't attack them.

I think the U.S. will have some trouble credibly committing to North Korean security, which

is why the North Koreans will never go to zero.

The Libyan model didn't work out very well for the Libyans, right?

So the Americans need to make a set of reasonable offers that the North Koreans might buy and

they comeback with some things that we want.

Besides a security guarantee, I imagine they would want a sanctions relief.

Economic assistance, and diplomatic normalization."

Before a new date and venue is set, experts say working-level efforts are needed from

both sides, involving diplomats and nuclear weapons experts.

They need to devise a framework that Trump and Kim can work with to reach a denuclearization

agreement.

N. Korea makes low-key response to summit cancellation; economic reasons lying behind - Duration: 2:45.

North Korea's vice foreign minister released a statement on the situation just hours after

Trump called off the meeting.

It was an unusually gentle written statement.... indicative of the regime's willingness to

sit down for talks.

Oh Jung-hee zooms in on Pyongyang's response.

It was an unprecedentedly polished, polite, and low-key response from North Korea.

Only 8 hours after the announcement from Washington,... North Korea's Vice Foreign Minister Kim Kye-gwan

released a statement 'upon authorization',... urging the U.S. to give more thought to cancelling

the June 12th summit.

North Korea said it wants to give the U.S. more time and opportunity.

It highlighted it's willing to sit down face-to-face with Washington at any time, and in any format

to work through their issues.

Pyongyang defended what President Trump called 'tremendous anger and open hostility,' saying

it was (quote)"just a reaction" to Washington's pressure over unilateral denuclearization.

The regime went on to stress... that the current situation, which shows a very deep rift between

the two sides, rather means the summit talks are urgently needed.

North Korea did express regret over Trump's decision,... but at the same time said...

that the regime has been highly anticipating the summit as well as the so-called 'Trump

model.'

Saying that Pyongyang appreciates Trump for making a decision that no other American president

has,... the statement added...

Kim Jong-un has been pouring his efforts into summit preparations.

"The fact that this statement was written 'upon authorization' means it's a message

from Kim Jong-un.

And notice how the statement mentioned the 'Trump model.'

I believe this means that the North could be a bit flexible in its denuclearization

talks with Washington."

Then why is North Korea so willing OR desperate to restore the summit talks, even willing

to drop its pre-summit power struggle with the U.S.?

According to some experts, the motive lies in the recent policy shift... to economic

development.

"The ultimate damage goes to Kim Jong-un because North Korea would face even greater economic

sanctions and military pressure.

So Kim Jong-un can't leave the game.

Cancelling the summit talks would cause fundamental problems to Kim's new policy goal of economic

development."

The regime is planning large-scale celebrations on September 9th for the 70th anniversary

of the regime's establishment.

For the North Korean regime that needs to show its people some tangible accomplishments,...

the Pyongyang-Washington summit could be an opportunity... too big to miss.

Tutorial: Visionary-T DT: SOPAS configuration | SICK AG - Duration: 23:51.

This video tutorial demonstrates how easy and fast one can solve detection application

with our new Visionary-T DT.

The following things are used for this tutorial:

A Visionary-T DT 3D snapshot sensor, a power cable, an ethernet cable, a signal light

connected to the digital outputs of Visionary-T DT and a lattice box

as the so called "Lattice box application" is ideal for the purpose of this tutorial.

Now, as you can see on the screen,

I have already installed and embedded Visionary-T DT into the SOPAS ET software.

If you don't know how to do this, please refer to our USB-content

delivered with the sensor, specifically to the document called: "SOPAS installation and embedding Visionary-T".

To get to the homepage of the sensor I double-click on the project here on the left hand side.

A new window opened and I am now on the homepage of Visionary-T DT.

In order to be able to configure the sensor, we first have to login as "Service".

The Service password is provided in the GUI-presentation

that is on the USB or amongst the USB-content.

Now, before we go on with the actual configuration of the sensor, we first have a look at the

setup and define which detection tasks shall be solved.

Now here is the actual setup and we can see that Visionary-T DT is mounted on the sealing,

facing down on the lattice box.

We now want to configure Visionary-T DT in such a way, that we

on the one hand

are able to detect whether an object is inside the lattice box or not

and on the other hand

whether the door on the side is open or whether it's closed.

Now that we are aware of the setup and the actual detection tasks,

in a next step and as we want to permanently save this configuration on the sensor itself,

we create a specific configuration for these tasks.

We do so by clicking on this dropdown menu and selecting "New Job".

To adjust the specific detection settings of the sensor,

we go to the visual settings page by clicking "visual settings".

Now what we see here on the left hand side is the 2D-Intensity image

showing the lattice box

and here on the right hand side, we have the 3D-Pointcloud that is captured by the sensor.

Now, in order to go through all the settings, we simply follow these four steps here on

the right hand side, starting with the mounting settings.

On the mounting settings page we find three presets

and in our case, the preset on the left is exactly the configuration we have with our lattice box,

meaning the camera mounted on the sealing facing down on to the lattice box.

Now, by clicking on this preset, we find that the mounting setting is already

pretty well adjusted to the real setup, but it still needs some fine tuning.

This is done by first selecting "Sensor position".

And to adjust the sensor position we have to possibilities.

We can go here into the viewer and actually drag and drop the camera itself.

In this case, I can see that the points originating from the floor here in my lab

are not aligned with the virtual floor of the camera depicted by this checkerboard.

So I need to align these pixels with our virtual floor by moving down the camera.

Now let's have a quick look from the side, how well this matches and this is already

a pretty good match.

What I can see here now, is that the camera is slightly tilted with respect to the floor

and I have to adjust the sensor orientation.

This is done by clicking on "Sensor orientation" and again I have the option to either use

the buttons here or to directly drag and drop by using the handles here in the 3D-viewer.

In this case, the green handle is the correct one and I will adjust the orientation of the sensor.

Again,

we check whether the points coming from the floor match the checkerboard floor

and we see that it still requires a slight tilt

and that we need to move down the sensor a bit further.

This time, I use the input here and I go to a height of 1.9 meters,

which is actually to high so lets go down to 1.8 meters

and

this is a pretty good match.

So for now, we are done with the mounting settings and can go on with the next step,

meaning the adjustment of the Time-of-Flight settings.

For the Time-of-Flight settings, we keep the confidence algorithm with the default value "Continuous acquisition".

As there is only one Visionary-T here, we can stay with code one

and also the acquisition mode can stay with standard.

In order to also see black objects, we keep an integration time of 4 milliseconds,

which is the default value.

As we don't have any objects in the scene, that are further away than 7.2 meters

from the camera we can use the short range non-ambiguity mode.

We leave the Time-of-Flight sensitivity with the default value.

Also the average mode is off.

After we have now adjusted the Time-of-Flight settings, we go on by adjusting the data filters.

Now as you can see here on the data filters page, there are various filters that can be applied.

In this case here or for this application, I actually only want to apply one filter.

If you are interested in the individual filters, please refer to

the GUI-presentation provided with the USB-flash drive.

Now, in our case, I only want to use the intensity based filters, in order to get rid of those

pixels that do not originate from the lattice box itself, but from the floor around the lattice box.

If I hover over these pixels originating from the floor, you can see

in the lower right of this 3D-viewer that the intensity of these pixels is quite low.

I will use this fact, to actually filter those pixels.

Now lets see what happens, if I increase the lower threshold of this filter.

What we see is that at a value of around 50 decibels mainly only the lattice box remains

and the pixels coming from the floor are filtered out.

This is pretty much what I want to achieve.

It's not necessary to apply any more filters.

So let's return to the main settings page and let's enter the detection configuration itself.

The detection configuration itself is again divided into four steps.

We recommend following these four steps as they are numbered from one to four.

So let's start with the detection volume.

Now, in this case, what we need to do is, we need to adjust the detection volume

such that it covers the actual volume we want to observe any detection within.

Now, if I use the viewer and zoom out, I can see that right now

this detection volume doesn't match my lattice box at all.

So I need to move this volume of interest,

such that it matches my actual desired volume of interest

I can do so, using again the viewer and drag and drop the volume of interest

or if I know the specific physical lower and upper limits of my volume of interest,

I can directly put in the numbers here, but for now, I will start with drag and drop.

So I'm moving the volume of interest onto the lattice box.

Let's readjust our view.

Let's say we view it from the top.

Let's center the volume of interest on the lattice box.

We have now centered this in X and Y.

Let's have a look at the volume of interest from the side.

We can see that no adjustments have to be made regarding the upper limit in Z-direction,

but the lower limit should be changed.

Now lets see, if we cover the whole lattice box.

This is the case right now,

so we now go on partitioning the volume of interest into individual cuboids.

I know for this application a partitioning of 12 times 10, so overall 120 cuboids, works really well.

Now, let's have a look at this from the bottom and we can see that the partitioning

is done, such that the edges of the box fall into individual rows of the cuboids

which will later help us to actually detect whether the door of this lattice box

is opened or closed and to detect whether there is an object inside the lattice box.

Let's go to the second step that is adjusting the cuboid heights.

In this step, we can adjust the height of every individual cuboid itself, meaning the

meaning the upper and lower limit of each of the cuboids.

Now for this application, this is not necessary and I will simply globally adjust the height of all cuboids,

which I do by pressing "Select all" and then just lowering the upper limit of all the cuboids

such that they roughly match the upper limit of the lattice box.

I will do the same thing for the lower limit by moving the lower limit a bit up,

such that it roughly matches the bottom of this lattice box.

In the next step, we will now go to the cuboid groups.

In this step the individual cuboids are assigned to groups.

In our case,

as we want to detect whether the box is open or not,

meaning the door of this box is closed or open,

we can define one group for this specific task and I do so by clicking on the individual

cuboids that shall belong to this group.

I can either do so by clicking on the individual cuboids or

I have the option again to just use my mouse to mark the individual cuboids.

Now lets have a look at this from the side,

you can see that if I hover over the individual cuboids

that the volume that is covered by these cuboids, is also visualized by a line

that connects the upper and lower limits of this cuboid.

I have selected these cuboids, so that the volume covered by this group of cuboids

covers the door, which is here on the side of the lattice box.

I now assign these cuboids, which I have marked by clicking the plus button for group one,

so these cuboids now belong to group one.

I will name this group "door".

We can see that eight cuboids belong to this group, if we want we can also change

the color of this group, but I will leave it with red.

Now the second detection task is to see whether there is an object or several objects

inside the lattice box.

I will use the top view to do so,

zoom in a bit

and use the mouse to mark all the cuboids

that cover the volume inside the lattice box.

Now lets see if this is properly done.

What I see right now, is that I can also add these cuboids here.

Now, that I have marked these cuboids, I will add them to group two by clicking the plus button.

This group is now called "box_content"

and we can see that I added 60 cuboids to this group.

By clicking again on "door", I can see those cuboids that belong to the door group and

by clicking on "box_content" I can see the cuboids that belong to the box_content group.

Now lets go to the next step, the digital outputs.

In this menu, I assign the groups to different digital outputs.

In my case, I assign the door group to output three and the box_content group to output four.

Simply, because I have connected my signal lamp to the outputs three and four.

This means whenever there is a detection in the door group I will get a signal on output three

and if there is a detection in the box itself I will get a signal at digital output four.

I will leave the Off-Delay with zero milliseconds, as we do not need any Off-Delay for this application.

Now lets go back to the main detection settings.

As you can see down here, a few more things can be adjusted.

First, we can adjust the detection sensitivity, which defines how strong

the deviation from the taught scene has to be, in order to trigger a detection.

I will leave this with "High" as we also want to see smaller objects within the lattice box.

I also leave the Outlier suppression with the default value of three, but I will increase

the Multiple sampling from one frame to three frames, as this is a static application.

A multiple sampling of three means that it requires a detection

in three consecutive frames in order to trigger a detection.

Before we are done with the whole configuration of our 3D-Sensor, there are two things we need to do.

One thing that is crucial is to teach the scene and the volume of interest to the sensor

and I will do so by clicking "teach" here.

The scene has now been taught and in a final step

I will save this configuration permanently on the sensor by clicking this button here.

Now, I can also use this configuration once I have powered off the sensor and power it on again.

Now lets have a closer look and see how well our configuration performs in terms of solving the application.

Its best if we do so by following the signal lamp, when we open and close the door

or when we put objects inside the lattice box.

Of course, you can also have a look at the 3D-View here, because detections in the individual

cuboids will be indicated by a changing color.

So none-active cuboids are shown in blue color.

Once there is an active detection, their color will change to violet.

Now lets see what happens if we open and close the door or move objects inside the box.
