Um, let's see. Old people stuff.

Just like, ey.

For starters, every time I come in,

And I'm like no.

And then they just go to the kitchen

How To Promote Your YouTube Videos to Get More Views - Duration: 6:07.

Sunny Lenarduzzi: Today I'm going to teach you how to promote

your YouTube videos for more views and subscribers on your channel.

Speaking of subscribing, make sure you hit that little bell beside the Subscribe button

to be notified each week when I post a new video.

For the bright side of branding, business and being your own boss.

When you publish a video on YouTube, the work has really just begun.

These are my six steps to take immediately after you publish your video, to ensure that

you get the views that you deserve.

As a reminder, that first 24 hours of when your video goes Live on YouTube, are the most

vital.

Step number one is to simply distribute your video by e-mail.

I know that sounds pretty basic, but it makes a big difference.

I know you want lots of views and lots of subscribers, but if you're a new channel particularly,

you have to start somewhere.

When I first started my channel from scratch, I was sending my videos to my family and friends

in just simple e-mails every single week.

If you have an e-mail list, even better.

Every time I publish a video, I'm sending that video out to my e-mail list as added

value, that's going to help them and create a better relationship with them as well.

Step number two.

This is so important, especially now.

It's doing Live steams.

What I want you to do is go Live on Facebook particularly, and on Instagram.

Why does this work so well?

In the first 24 hours, if you can do a Live stream and tell people to go watch your new

video on YouTube, going Live is the best way to grab people's attention in the moment,

and get them to take action.

You want to make sure you have the link to your YouTube video and put it on the comments

on your Instagram Live, or put it in the description and comments on your Facebook Live.

What you also want to do is include a Call to Action in your Live stream to say, Make

sure you go watch my new YouTube video, and leave a comment asking them a specific question,

so they know exactly what to comment with.

The more comments and engagement that you get in that first 24 hours on your YouTube

video, the higher your video is going to rank.

If you want more tips on how to rank your videos on page one of YouTube, you can check

out my video on how to rank number one on my channel.

We'll link to it below this video as well.

Step number three is posting your YouTube video on Twitter.

Even if you have two followers on Twitter, that's still two people who might go watch

your video.

It's really getting the awareness out there of what your video is about.

The best way to draw attention on Twitter is by sharing your video thumbnail.

If you look at the cluttered news feed on Twitter, it's hard to just pay attention to

a simple text tweet.

What you want to add to it is either a video, or a graphic.

My favorite go-to is either adding a video teaser that leads to my full length YouTube

video, or just putting my thumbnail, so I grab lots of attention and real estate within

the news feed.

Step number four is sharing your video in your Instagram story, and in your profile,

so you know where to drive people to actually be able to click on the link.

As you know, in an Instagram post, in the caption, you can't actually link to your video.

What you want to do is in your post, on your Instagram profile, say, Go check out my story,

to get more view on your story, and grab the link from there so you can link in your story

to your YouTube video.

Or, you can say, Grab the link in my profile.

The bonus of putting your link in your profile is every new follower, that's the link they're

going to go tap on, which is going to drive even more views for your video, and potentially

more subscribers.

Step number five, and this is something that I've been playing with quite a bit lately,

is sending out a Facebook Messenger bot with a link to your new video.

It's almost seen as another e-mail list.

You can send out a Messenger bot notifying all of your followers on your Facebook page,

or anyone that subscribes to your chat bot.

P.S., I made a whole tutorial about how to create a Facebook Messenger chat bot, and

I'll link to it below this video as well so you can go check that out and start using

this to promote your videos.

All you need to do is send out a broadcast that includes a reason to watch the video

and a link to the video.

That's going to drive your Facebook traffic to your YouTube video as well.

Finally, step number six.

Make sure that you're posting your video in a non-spammy way to places like Reddit, forums,

Facebook groups, and even in comments that are relevant on certain blog topics.

If you are a travel blogger and you're talking about your recent trip to England and you

happen to come across another blogger who's written a post on her recent trip to England,

you can comment and say, I loved your review and here's my video review of my experience.

That's related, it's relevant, and it's not spammy.

Find an authentic way to be able to share your video with like-minded communities and

forums.

Remember, like I said, the best way to get more views on your YouTube videos and to drive

more subscribers, is to rank on page one of YouTube.

I'm teaching you how to do that in one of my videos on my channel.

Again, we'll link to it in this video.

And, if you want to check out my zero to 100,000 subscribers and grow your channel at warp

speed, make sure you grab this guide.

It is 19 pages of pure gold, and a case study on how one of my students grew from zero to

100,000 subscribers in 10 months.

Make sure you grab it, it's got lots of helpful pointers in it.

If you like this video, make sure you hit that Like button below.

Share it with your friends, and be sure to hit that Subscribe button for new videos every

single week.

Thank you so much for watching.

I'll see you in the next video.

Have you been thinking about using YouTube to grow your business, but you're not sure

where to start and you're scared of wasting time on the long steps?

Let me be your guide, and I'll show you the right steps to ranking on page one for more

views, subscribers, and leads for your business.

I'm sorry guys.

Celebrating Kimchi kimchee Google Doodle - Duration: 1:51.

Today we celebrate Kimchi on what is known as "Kimchi Day" in Korea!

According to local research, the date is significant in this tasty treat's creation because salting

kimchi today helps the dish reach its full flavor potential.

Packing a powerful punch of napa cabbage, green onion, fish sauce, red pepper flakes,

rice flour, salt, ginger, radish, carrot, and garlic, fermented kimchi in onggi (clay

pot) is loved by many around the world and is traditionally eaten with chopsticks.

Today's Doodle celebrates each ingredient that goes into making some seriously scrumptious

kimchi.

Kimchi was first referenced in Korea about 2,600-3,000 years ago, and in the 18th century,

it was first made with chili peppers.

Due to varying regional recipes, there are hundreds of different types of kimchi.

Many Korean households even have a separate kimchi refrigerator!

The dish is produced in especially large amounts during November and December.

This is when kimjang (kimchi curing) takes place in preparation for winter.

During kimjang, cabbage is pickled by cutting it into smaller pieces, soaking it in brine

overnight, and dashing salt.

Then, yangnyum (radish coated in chili powder) is mixed with ingredients such as green onions,

dropwort, mustard leaves, ginger, garlic, and fermented shrimp or anchovies.

To complete the process, the pickled cabbage is stuffed or mixed with the yangnyum and

stored away to ferment until eating.

During this time, family members and neighbors gather in each other's kitchens to cook

together, trade recipes, and share stories.

Listed by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage, kimjang creates moments of joy and

encourages living in harmony with nature.

Book Haul 2017 - Duration: 10:31.

Heya Book Nerds!

I'm Meg LaTorre-Snyder and on this episode of iWriterly, we are doing a...

Book Haul 2017 So for those of you who have been watching

iWriterly in the past, you know that we do a lot of stuff on writing.

However, we wanted to change things up a bit to also talk about some of the awesome books

that we've been reading!

Alright, so, without further ado, let's go to our list!

Our first is Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff.

This is book two in the Nevernight Chronicle.

I was blown out of the water by the first book, Nevernight, and it was amazing!

And naturally, I am ridiculously excited for the second book.

The story follows Mia, a girl who trained among the infamous assassins of the red church

in order to seek revenge on the people who murdered her family.

Following a confrontation in the second book, she starts to suspect the motives of the church

itself.

That just sounds so amazing.

Our next book is: Wonder Woman Warbringer

by Leigh Bardugo I am a huge Leigh Bardugo fan so it was a

wonderful surprise when I stumbled upon this book on the shelves

and needless to say, I bought it immediately.

For those of you who don't know Leigh Bardugo was the author of Six of Crows and at some

point I am going to do an iWriterly video on the awesomeness that is Six of Crows.

Yes, book reviews are coming to iWriterly!

Our next one is... bum bum bum...

The Collapsing Empire by John Scalzi.

This book I actually picked earlier this year at BookCon.

For those of you who don't know, BookCon is a huge event that happens every year in New

York City at the Javits Center, and it is amazing for big fans of... books.

I had the amazing opportunity to listen to John Scalzi and Charlie Jane Anders among

other people, and that's where I initially heard of this book.

I always wanted to get into the heartier, more tech-y side of science-fiction as I've

kind of geared towards the more space opera end of things and this seemed like the perfect

way to start.

So this next book is not exactly new to the shelves, but Robert Jordan is one of my all

time favorite authors and so naturally I had to talk about this book because I haven't

read it yet, and I have...

I really need to!

Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series is nothing short of a masterpiece, which is finished

up by Mr. Brandon Sanderson at the end of the really really long series.

This story, New Spring, takes place before the wheel of time series, and it follows al'Lan

Mandragoran, if I'm saying that right, the character we heard a lot about in the wheel

of times series, but this dives a little more into his backstory which I'm really excited

to dive into.

Our next title is drumroll please.

I'll do it myself.

Inked by Eric Smith.

I initially picked this one up because I do some serious fangirling of Eric Smith on Twitter.

The other part was, truthfully, this story has a super cool concept.

In this world, tattoos were once an act of rebellion.

But now, they decide your destiny.

And so there's this magical ink that gets put into your skin and essentially it picks

your vocation for you.

This next one is Gardens of the Moon by Steven Erikson

Who I always want to call Erik Stevenson...

I've actually started and stopped this book several times and I've been in love with the

pages and the concept.

It's the first book in the Malazan Book of the Fallen series, and it has won a gazillion

awards.

Anywho, needless to say, I am really looking forward to checking that out and of course

the next book in the series.

Our next one is The Slow Regard of Silent Things by Patrick Rothfuss.

Like many fantasy fans, I've read Patrick Rothfuss' book The Name of the Wind, and the

second installation, which is A Wise Man's Fear, and loved them both.

And while he is still working on the the third and final installation, or maybe there'll

be more... hopefully... who knows?

While he is still working on those, he published this bad boy!

This novella takes place in the same world as the Kingkiller Chronicles, but it follows

a different character.

This story follows Auri's adventures in the Underthing, which is beneath the university

where Kvothe studies.

Anywhos, sounds super fantastic, and look...

Pretty short read!

So, could totally get through this in like a day, or a weekend.

I just can't wait!

Our next book is: The Six-Gun Tarot

This is the first book in the Golgotha Series by R.S.

Belcher.

I actually stumbled into the third book of the series titled, the Queen of Swords, and

I know people say, "don't judge a book by its cover" but the cover art is gorgeous and

I immediately wanted to read it, and therefore I took a look at this book.

This first book takes place in 1869 Nevada, and blends western and steampunk together.

Sounds super cool!

I can't wait to read it!

Our next book has the most amazing title, which is:

The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding by Alexandra Bracken

Bracken!

Bracken!

That's not part of the title, that's her name.

She's got a really cool name.

I saw this particular story at BookCon for the first time, and was super intrigued by

the premise.

Prosper discovers that there is a demon inside of him, thanks to one of his ancestors making

and breaking a contract with a malefactor, which is a demon that makes a deal with humans

for eternal servitude.

When the demon awakes, he is intent on destroying Prosper's family.

And as each day passes, the demon takes more and more control over Prosper's body as he's

trying to fight back.

Anywhos, I'm looking forward to reading this middle-grade story.

The last in our list is the Dwarves by Markus Heitz.

This, is another gem I ran across in the bookstore.

I realized when I saw it, that I needed more dwarves in my life.

Fili, Kili, Oin, Gloin, Bifur, Bofur are all wonderful, but an entire story on dwarves?

I dig this...

I could go for this!

And I'm not talking about Happy, Sneezy, and Dopey, and Doc!

I want the ones that fight with swords, or Axes...

This particular story follows orphaned Tungdil who was raised by humans.

He's a blacksmith, they slay orcs...

I mean, what more could you ask for?

On to our next section, which is honorable mentions!

Obviously, there isn't enough time to talk about every single amazing book piled up in

my less organized bookshelf that I want to read, so we want to have a few honorable mentions

of books that are worth noting in this book haul.

Stay tuned for a future iWriterly video of a bookshelf tour, to see some of the things

that I've already read and will fangirl about forever.

I think I'm going to order a second bookshelf tonight.

Our first book for the honorable mentions is

The Writer's Guide to Weapons by Benjamin Sobieck.

Now I know this isn't a traditional fictional story, but I think it's worth mentioning since

a lot of these are fantasies, and include weapons.

I picked up this particular gem at Writer's Digest's Annual Conference in New York City,

which was a blast!

And I had the pleasure of attending a session that Mr. Benjamin taught about specifically

including weapons in your fiction.

And as a writer and a reader, I thought this was super super fascinating about how to make

realistic warfare and talk about swords and stuff.

Our second honorable mention is: Thief of Lies by Brenda Drake

This is another darling I snagged at BookCon.

I'm a huge fan of Brenda's on account of her amazing Twitter writing contests such as #PitchWars

and #PitMad.

But I think the concept of the story is super fascinating, as it follows Gia, who along

with her friends gets sucked into a photograph and portaled to a library in France.

In addition to our top ten books in our book haul, and our honorable mentions, we have

a series continuation!

Ooooooohhhh.

I have a number of series I am currently reading, and super excited to read the next books.

Our first is Cress by Marissa Meyer.

Cress is the third novel in the Lunar Chronicles series, and is loosely based on the story

of Rapunzel.

The former two books are also loosely based on fairy-tale characters.

The first book in the series, is Cinder, which is based on Cinderella, and the second book

is Scarlett, which is based on Little Red Riding Hood.

Our next series continuation is The Sharing Knife Passage.

This is sort of the third book in the fantasy romance crossover series called the Sharing

knife.

The original stories were so long that they were broken up into volumes.

The first book was split into two parts: Beguilement and Legacy

The second book was split into: Passage and Horizon

In Beguilement, Fawn, the protagonist and farmer girl ran away from home after the man

who impregnated her said he would not acknowledge the child as his.

Fawn is attacked on her journey and saved by the lakewater patroller, Dag.

The two fall in love and face a bunch of tribulations and stuff on account of the different cultures

of farm to lakewater patrollers, and a super mysterious, (that I'm not going to give away)

magic that binds the two together.

The last on our series continuation is Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas

This is the fifth installment of the Throne of Glass Series, which follows our main character,

Aelin Galathynius as she, Dorian and a bunch of other characters seek to bring peace to

their land.

So this is the end of our Book Haul 2017 video, only because I have a million other books,

and this feels like a good place to stop.

Stay tuned for our book reviews, and book shelf tour video's, along with our usual writing,

editing, querying videos, and other iWriterly stuff.

Thanks for tuning into our special iWriterly video, Book Haul 2017.

I'm your host, Meg LaTorre-Snyder, and if you like what you saw, like, subscribe, comment,

tell me what you want to hear about next time, or what books you want to hear about.

My CPU & Computer Simulator - A Very Useful Tool For My Logisim CPU - Duration: 9:36.

In my previous videos, I have shown my CPU and computer design simulated

using Logisim, VHDL via GHDL, Verilog via Icarus Verilog, and my own text-based

simulator.

Now, I'll show my Graphical User Interface (or GUI) version of my

simulator.

I'll go back to Logisim specific stuff in my next video, which will

be quite a surprise and quite a paradigm shift.

This simulator will be very useful for that shift, because, for one thing,

it runs much faster than Logisim.

So be sure to check out my next video when I create and upload it.

This simulator runs faster because it doesn't have to simulate the

electronics of the CPU and computer.

One problem with only having the Logisim, VHDL, and Verilog simulators, is

that they all depend on the designed wiring and electronics.

Let's say, you write an assembly language program

for the CPU design, and it doesn't work.

Is it because the program has bugs or the hardware design has bugs?

It might be hard to track down especially since the wiring might all be correct but

quirks of gate delays and timings might be screwing it up (especially true if

you actually put it in an FPGA).

But my simulator does specifically what each instruction is supposed to do as

specified in my instruction set list regardless of the electronic

implementation.

My simulator has a few different ways of timing the execution.

By default, it uses a Windows timer event to trigger an

instruction execution.

Windows timer events are in milliseconds, which means

at most they will occur a thousand times a second or 1 KHz.

This really isn't fast enough, so I programmed the

option to not use the timer event.

In this situation, an instruction is executed during each iteration of the Windows

main message loop.

The problem with this method is that Windows typically

doesn't have enough time to update the various dialog and window elements.

For example, the PC register value display gets updated, but the Y register value

display doesn't.

This method still isn't fast enough.

So, I put in a "Fast Mode".

In fast mode, the program doesn't even try to update the less necessary

dialog and window elements.

It's amazing how much faster it runs in this mode.

Of course, you won't know the value of the registers, but it's an acceptable

trade-off.

The MIDI device is implemented.

The instrument and MIDI channel can also be selected.

There's also different ways to load a program.

The file can be specified on the command line as shown before.

The LOAD button can also be used.

And if the "Show Program" option was desired, but

forgotten, selecting "Reload program" from the menu is a good idea.

There's a few more ways I'll cover later.

If the Show Program option is selected, the simulator disassembles

the program while loading.

It's not reading the source code.

The "Hilite Instruction" option highlights the

currently running instruction.

The Show Program option is off by default, since

very large programs can take a while to put in the listing window.

The "Speed" value changes the delay used.

You might want to slow down the execution, so you can better see what's happening.

Highlighting slows down the simulator, so it should only be used when

necessary.

The simulator can be resized.

During resizing, the various sections resize and shift accordingly.

Some sections only shift or resize past a certain point.

By default, the text in the TTY screen word wraps to fit within the TTY screen

area.

If word wrap is turned off, the scrollbars can be used to see all the

output.

There's various other things that can be done from the menu.

Toggling the TTY window's frame is an example.

Choosing to use a thickframe allows the TTY window to be resized and moved separately.

In my opinion, using thickframe for this window in Windows Vista and above

looks ugly, so this option is off by default under those versions.

Under Windows XP, thickframes look better, so the

default is on for XP.

Double-clicking the left mouse button in the non-dialog box areas toggles

the color combinations used for the program listing.

This feature also can be selected from the menu.

The realtime clock value can also be displayed.

A program that requests the time is required for this value to be

updated.

It can be as simple as this.

The 24-hour clock format can be selected as well.

The "No Lag LED Matrix Design" option selects the no lag version of my

design.

Clearly, in fast mode it runs too fast.

There's also the "Instruction TTY" component from my design.

This does a similar function as the program listing window,

but it doesn't load the whole program into the window.

It disassembles on the fly.

The value indicators have tooltips to give a better description of the

function.

For particularly hard to diagnose bugs in a program, the single "Step" button

can be useful.

Stepping one instruction each time it's pressed.

By the way, a "BREAKPOINT" instruction can also be put

in the program to show the value of the desired register or memory location.

This is another way to diagnose bugs.

The Y and A register LED displays can also be turned on and off.

And "TTY Clear" toggles whether a program can clear

the TTY screen.

If the option is off, a program cannot clear the screen.

This is useful if the text displays and clears too quickly to see.

A clear completely removes the text from the window.

I'll take a brief intermission to explain the background image.

I made this background image so you don't have to look

at a boring desktop during this video.

It basically shows the history of my CPU design.

My original drawn on paper many years ago design is on

the bottom.

My first Logisim implementation of it is on the top.

My first Logisim computer design on the right.

My most recent CPU design in the back.

And on the left, a sample assembly program for my CPU and computer.

Back to the simulator demonstration.

Now I'll show other ways to load a program or start the simulator.

I don't use a file extension for my CPU programs.

So, for the sake of this feature, I made a .CPU extension, and told

Windows to use my simulator to load CPU files.

So now, double clicking on the CPU program file will run the simulator (if

it isn't running already), and load the program.

Windows Vista and above removed the capability to easily change

how specifically a file of a given extension is loaded via the

"Tools -> Folder Options -> File Types" menu path, so I had to use regedit to

change how a CPU file is opened - adding various command line options.

Another way to load a CPU program is to drag and drop it into the simulator

window.

If the program is dropped in the program listing window, the simulator

disassembles it as well.

Forgot to mention, there's also the CPU status LED.

The other round LED is the STROBE indicator.

And here's the command line options.

The "Maintain only one instance" option is used to only start up one instance of the

simulator when double clicking the CPU programs in Windows Explorer.

If the simulator is already running, the new CPU program will be run on the existing

simulator rather than starting up another simulator.

And here's an example command line startup.

Well, I guess that's it.

Back to Logisim next time.
