drop this image in your document

now add layer mask

take single color gradient (black)

and mask out

now add new adjustment layer "hue & saturation"

create clipping mask

drop down the saturation

now drop this image in your document

rename it as "boy"

now add new adjustment layer "Brightness & contrast"

create clipping mask

drop down the brightness

now take a new layer above

rename it as "gradient"

create clipping mask

now take single color gradient (black)

and drag it as shown

drop the opacity

now drop this moon in your document

rename it as "moon"

add layer mask

use soft brush, color black

and start painting the mask as shown

i am done with the masking

now double click the moon layer and open "layer styles"

outer glow

inner glow

curves

create clipping mask

color balance

create clipping mask

now select the mask of brightness contrast layer

use soft brush

color black

and paint on the face as shown

now take a new layer below "boy" layer

rename it as "smoke"

color white

smoke brush

adjust the flow

paint

now add adjustment layer "gradient map" to overall scene

blending mode "screen"

drop the opacity

gradient map

color #2a71a3 - #white

blending mode "multiply"

drop the opacity

selective color

now press (ctrl + shift + alt + e)

blending mode "linear light"

filter - other - high pass
